Design to standards
Internet Explorer is no longer the main way that people look at websites. Other browsers such as Firefox and mobile phones now account for around 50 percent of website browsing.

This means that it is no longer acceptable to design just for internet explorer. We design websites using the standards set down by the Worldwide Web Consortium and ensure that all our pages use valid code. This means that whatever browser your client is using the page will appear as you expect it to.

These symbols can only be shown on pages with valid code

and show you that care has been taken to create an interoperable web page to the standards.

Dynamic sites
AlpesInfo specialise in the development of dynamic websites. A dynamic website is one where you have an easy way of updating the content on the site yourself. Whether it be something small like changing a ‘hot news’ item on your home page to something more complicated like having a picture gallery or the ability to modify practically all the text on your site we can build a site that will allow you to do this.

For example Pally has a simple interface where he can add or remove galleries and add and remove pictures within a gallery. So straight after a shoot he can upload pictures himself without having to wait to get the web designer to do it.

On the Mountain Spirit site Wolfgang has a simple user interface that allows him to edit the text on any of the pages of the site as well as upload new pictures to the picture gallery and change the banner image on each page.

Search Engine Optimisation

If you want traffic to come to your site then you want to rank well in the search engines. There are a lot of snake oil merchants out there that will try and sell you tools or try and make you buy into affiliate schemes to try and improve your search engine rankings.

There are some simple and effective ways to make your site rank well in search engines, and they are more to do with good clean code and good copy rather than stuffing meta tags full of keywords.
